One Year Old Program
The toddler program at Child's World of Learning is specially designed to accommodate your child. We recognize that children at this age may be at very different stages of development. Some may have just started walking, while others are already exploring the many phases of their emerging development. Your toddler is asserting their independence in new ways every day. It's exciting, rewarding, and challenging. Toddlers are curious about the world around them. Even though they still need a lot of attention to their personal needs, toddlers are beginning to grow quite independent. During this phase of their development, their language, mobility, and motor skills are advancing rapidly.
Child's World of Learning program for toddlers is designed to enhance their development during this stage. Children are encouraged to join activities such as singing songs, listening to stories and nursery rhymes, arts and crafts, and building social skills through directed indoor and outdoor play with other toddlers.
Two Year Old Program
Your two-year old is establishing their identity. It is a time for active exploration and language development in a safe, loving group environment. Your child will gain confidence in their very own classroom. Personal cubbies store important items. Learning self-help skills and independence are important. Exercises in practical life, such as simple cooking projects and taking responsibility for a toy or blanket, build confidence. Child size facilities, and a supportive home program, encourage interest in the use of the toilet. Hand washing and good health habits are a part of each day's routine and help to create a positive self-image.
Small and large motor skills are strengthened during indoor and outdoor play settings with age appropriate equipment and materials. Eating snacks and meals in a relaxed and social atmosphere encourages experimentation with new foods, good eating habits and manners. Your two-year old is becoming interested in others. Group activities develop self-control and the beginning of cooperation and sharing. A time of music, songs, stories, and rhymes, build language skills. Creative expression in the arts and movement are encouraged. Color and shape recognition and counting are enhanced through these activities.
